Day 26: Tired.

14.8 miles: Roaring Fork Shelter to Deer Park Moutain Shelter.

This morning in the shelter a section hiker who went to sleep early last night was the first to wake up. When he did I got up and said good morning, he responded with "good morning, would you like this?"  and handed me an unopened bottle of Smirnoff vodka. On the trail you don't turn things down. Even if you don't drink vodka. So I gladly accepted and planned to trade it with someone later for something that I hadn't decided upon yet.
Tric and I have become very good hiking partners I would say. We push each other and remind each other to do the important things like drink water, which sounds simple and easy but is not at all.

Today the weather was pretty crappy at first but then the sky opened up and it was clear all day. We did 15 miles then camped next to a beautiful creek a little ways away from the shelter. A guy named Coffee Break shared our campsite with us and we shared a bunch of stories around a campfire. He had done a bunch of miles from Katahdin going south, referred to as a southbounder. This year he was going north. We went to bed excited for Hot Springs, a Nero day, and our reservations with Elmers Sunnybank Inn tomorrow.
